American Carousel Collection American Heritage StanderThis piece is part of the american caruosel collection. It is the american heritage stander originally created by the philadelphia tobaggan company and can be found on the carousel in hershey park, pennsylvania. Carousel horses are only decorated on the front, thus, the plain back. Msater woodcarver jerry b. Reinhardt was commissioned to carve the original figures for this collection. Mr. Reinhardt has been a carver since 1958. Over 1300 of his original miniature carousel carvings have been purchased by collectors throughout the world. He is a member of the national carousel association and served on the board of directors. He is past president of the kansas city chapter of the national woodcarvers association. He is currently the director of the c. W. Parker carousel museum located in leavenworth, kansas. He is a retired naval aviator. The original pieces were carvde from lindenwood then used as a mold to reproduce the horses in the collection. Each reproduction aws then painted by american artists and craftsmen.
It was a limited edition fo 7,500. The horses are mounted on a wood base with a spiral brass pole. It measures about 11 1/2 high and 8-9 long. They were made in america.
